I am sure by now everyone has heard about FLs new gun law - employees with CCWs are allowed to have a weapon in their vehicle at work. You probably also heard of the Disney Security individual (Sotomayer) who challenged Disney’s policy of employees can’t have a weapon on their property because they have fireworks on said property. He was suspended. [Property upon which the primary business conducted is the manufacture, use, storage, or transportation of combustible or explosive materials regulated under state or federal law, or importing, manufacturing, or dealing in explosive materials]. NOTE: Universal Orlando is claiming a different exemption: The resort houses a work-study program, the Universal Education Center, that is staffed by Orange County Public Schools, which is exempt from the law.

Today there was a new development where the State Attorney General’s Office and Disney decided that Disney would allow employees “off their main campus” (Disney has a lot of employees at office parks, etc.) to have weapons in their vehicles as per State law. Though this is NOT a legal opinion I wondered what type of influence it will have in Florida courts. While Disney appears to say they are "somewhat" responsible to obey the law, is the State Attorney agreeing with Disney that they are "somewhat" exempt from the law due to their firework exemption?

There are two comments I'd offer in response to your question. First, Disney is beyond contempt to even suggest that they have the power to modify state law to their liking, rather than adhere to the law as written (i.e. like everyone else has to). And we all know the storage of fireworks angle is pure BS. Second, Mr. McCollum was bankrolled into his position as Attorney General in no small part due to donations made by Disney and its managment. His recent acceptance of Disney's proposed 'alternative' to state law is proof positive that he's been bought and paid for by big business. For many Florida lawmakers, your rights are only important as long as you have enough money to grease the wheels of the political machine. And trust me, Disney has followed that practice for as long as I've lived in Florida (some 46 years).

I don't give a damn what any employer says, there is a gun in my car if I want there to be one, and they are never searching my car.

That is how the Disney security officer got in trouble. They thought he was keeping a firearm in his vehicle based off of some things he had said, he refused to let them check his vehicle, boom, laid off.

Wish this law would go in effect nation wide. I hate not being able to carry on my way to and from work...

Unless their was a car search clause in his contract, or a posting saying vehicles are subject to search, that sounds like grounds for a wrongful termination suit.

Alas, not in Florida. This is not a right-to-work state and you can be fired at any time, without reason.
