Not exactly, you being from Ohio. But it is your post that started my tirade.

I, too, think we should support Californians in their fight for their freedoms. However, we cannot do what they won't do for themselves. They are the largest state, but have done very little themselves to fight for their rights. Just what do they expect us to do? Whenever we've tried to get involved with CA politics, we get screwed.

Case in point, Proposition 8. The Catholic Bishop of San Francisco asked the LDS church for help. We organized and poured resources into the political battle. Did anybody come to our defense after this?



Oh no, the LDS church, along with a few protestants, took the wrath for the involvement. So until Californians are willing to do for themselves, I'm beginning to feel that Californians can sleep in the bed they've made. The threshold for getting a Proposition on the ballot is low in California. Why doesn't the gun rights movement get a prop together to add the right to bear arms to the California constitution? Likely because the pro-gun organizations are essentially non-existent there.

I'll do what I can. But I will not be hung out to dry again like we were with Prop 8. I drive a semi into California, and you wouldn't believe how many "F-yous" I got just due to my Utah plates. So California, right back at ya.



I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.

I'm not suggesting that we all drive to Calif. and protest for them. I'm not certain that's what they're asking for. but I do believe a little moral support for a cause in which you also believe, The right for every American to bear arms, can go a long way.

I also believe that telling someone that their state's screwed up and that you don't care what happens to them will not advance our cause and will probably hurt it in the long run.

Please keep in mind that the people who did this to California and Illinois are the ones who are leading our country and they will not stop pushing their agenda until we are all like those states and you can be sure that they
will do it in the most sneaky of ways.
