Once again we have a commentator that simply does not understand that the Bill of Rights does not "bestow" or "grant" rights to citizens! The Bill of Rights affirms rights that were commonly known to exist, guaranteeing those rights against usurpation by government. Since so many well-educated people do not understand this basic point, I hardly expect them to understand the term "shall not be infringed". |
