Boycott Disney & Georgia Pacific products
In the State of Florida, both Disney and Georgia Pacific feel that their parking lots are exempt from the law in Florida that allows people with legal permits to have their guns locked up in personal vehicles in their parking lots. Why do so many companies/people feel they have the right to infringe on the legal rights of gun owners. The best way that we gun owners can express our selves is to stop going to Disney, which may be a good thing for other reasons and do not purchase any products produced by Georgia Pacific paper company. We can find products made by other companies to wipe our bottom, paper plates, napkins and other paper products. Seek out their products to know which to avoid. This is a small price for us to pay for the injury they cause to all gun owners nation wide. We must stand together and ask our friends to stand with us. What is next??? Support and help promote a nationwide boycott. |

What Florida law are they in violation of? Posting the statute number would help as well.

Like Disney and Georgia Pacific will give a shit if employees who own guns don't work at their premises (which is what this hullabaloo is all about - banning employees from keeping their guns in their vehicles while at work) much less care whether other gun owners visit their parks or buy their products.
How many gun owners (who are predominantly male) buy the TP, paper plates, and napkins and book the kiddies' vacations themselves anyway? Libidio Ergo sum |

here is the thing, their parking lot is private property. Just like my yard is private property. If you can=me to my place with a gun I can at any time tell you to get the F off my property and im not infringing on any ones rights. I not saying what they are doing is right but im sure they have legal ground to stand on. i dont know about the state that you live in but in oregon I had to take a class to get my permit and they tell you right up front No schools banks etc. You can carry your gun any where else until you are on private property (a mall or something) and they tell you to get your gun out of there. Oh yeah, I work for the largest diesel engine manufacture in the world and they tell me i cant bring a gun onto their property, what are wesupposed to do now, stop buyig any thing thats shipped by a diesel engine?

Your car is your private property too. And many states recognize it as part of your home. So there are laws that restrict an employer from preventing an employee from keeping a firearm in his car saying, in effect, "You don't have to allow your employees to park on your property, but if you do you have to accept anything they can legally carry in their cars."
It's balancing the employee's property rights with the employer's. ---------- The real hero is always a hero by mistake; he dreams of being an honest coward like everybody else. -- Umberto Eco |

Who cares what they say, I say carry your gun, if you never need it they will never know. And if you do need it something pretty bad has happened so wouldn't rather be alive and deal with whatever BS will come later or you and your family dead and you'll never know what the outcome would have been. I am a cop, and I know for a fact that Disney doesn't like LEO's to carry thier gun off duty in the park with thier family's. Again I say carry, if some nutbag comes to the park and starts shooting it up I rather have the option that I am armed to protect myself, family, and other that I am sworn to protect. What is worse they will do to me, tell me I'm not allowed back in the future. So be it, al least I didn't become a victim that day.

So if the gun is in your car and locked up, how will the seasonal parking attendents at Disney know that you have one?
Kind of like this. I went to several national parks about a week ago. None of the people at the gates or Rangers I talked to ever asked me if I had a gun in my vehicle. The key is this. If they don't ask, you don't tell. |

Disney is creepy anyway.

So this is how liberty dies... with thunderous applause. |

"our goal is to provide inspiration and entertainment to all the children in the world" sounds like Michael Jackson owns part of Disney. --------- p6 Mark III 22/45 AR15 |

For those not following the Florida fracas...
Florida passed a law mandating that anyone who has a cwp (about 500,000 state residents) has the legal authority to keep a weapon in their car when they are at work, even if their employer bans guns on the premises. A coalition of businesses challenged the law, and a federal judge ruled in favor of gun owners, on the logic that a person's vehicle is an extension of their property. tk |

Agree 100% I am retired LE with the HR218 permit along with my state CCW permit. If you aren't creating a problem or exposing the fact you are carrying, no one will know. If TSHTF, better to be able to do something about it than be a victim. The most they can do is tell you to leave the property. At least I will leave alive. The only places I don't carry are those listed by statute or federal law. Craig |
