Hello all,

I hope I'm not being too redundant here but I do want to share some information I obtained the other day.

I recently purchased some gun parts off of Gunbroker.com and was informed of Paypal's anti-gun policies by the seller. At first I did not believe him until I went to their acceptable use policy section under legal agreements.

I also called customer service to verify it and 2 different people with whom I spoke admitted Paypal does not allow the purchase of firearms, certain firearm parts, accessories, ammunition, weapons or knives due their definition of them being dangerous.

I immediately canceled my account and notified the NRA (which I am a member), as well as many sellers from Gunbroker.com.

I want as many people as possible to know about the policies of paypal. Let's get the word out about people like them.

Thank you all for your time and thank you to SCOTUS.

It's pretty common knowledge in gun circles that Paypal are anti-gun and also assholes to deal with when a dispute arises, but your post is a good reminder.

Btw, your avatar is this big:

You might want to shrink it a bit for the folks on dial-up.

I was hoping I wasn't too redundant about it. I did find that the forum Calguns.net, which is about trying to help CA gun owners get their rights back, uses paypal for their donations.

Kinda ironic.

BTW, thanks for the info about my avatar. I've been trying to cancel it but it's not working.

Paypal's policies are selectively enforced. Part of their policy states Paypal can't be used to purchase obscene or pornographic material. I recently purchased, through Paypal, a CD of George Carlin's best routines, from a seller on Ebay. One of the routines is the "seven dirty words". According to the SCOTUS, the material is obscene and cannot be played on public airways. Paypal doesn't like inamimate objects, but s**t, p**s, c**k, c**t, motherf***er, cocks***er, and tits are fine with them.

It's just a stupid way for them to legislate morality. Personally, I think they're being impractical, imagine all the percentages they could rake in from firearms transactions.

I guess they showed us, that'll teach us to want firearms!

They're making more than enough of a profit from all those people buying George Carlin CD's. Wink

That has changed and those words are no longer considered obscene, at least not all of them. Either way they own the business and should be able to enforce their policies as they choose. Perhaps only pornography is obscene to them.

I guess they can lie about their policies to the public?
Here are our policies... but we only enforce any or all of them when we feel like it. With our "buyer protection" plan in place, your purchase of that classic 1957 Chevy for $75,000 guarantees the car is well represented. If we decide not to enforce our "buyer protection" plan on your purchase of a rolling pile of junk, we just helped f**k you out of $75,000. If you have a complaint about our policies, call 1-800-EAT-SHIT.

Well I think PayPal can eat shit and I told them as much.
As soon as I heard about their anti leanings I cancelled my account and made a point of telling them why. When you cancel they have a little space to tell them why....Oh I did and then some.

I never did like their service...and I rarely used it anyway. I don't really get on e-bay anymore and that was the only thing I used them for.

As far as I am concerned they can all just go fuck themselves!
And if you want to know how I really feel, I'll tell you! Wink

The trick with Pay Pal is stealth. I have bought and sol gun parts many of which were paid for with Paypal. Ir it is a game with me. I always transfer my money when I get it in my PP account so if the catch me, they will not get any of my money.

My best one. I bought some Colt AR mags and when I PPed the guy I put in the comments section. "Please send the 10 magazines about the dancing ponies".

I cancelled my account for a while but started back on Ebay and PP is almost a necessity now. The best rule. If you do PP someone for something gun related do not put anything in the comments sections. How will they know.

Besides, it is your money. They are merely a transfer point.

I guess I'm missing something here but, I never put anything in the comments about gun, firearm, whatever. I only ever remember checking the box that said purchase for
Goods
Services
Other
But I don't like to advertise what I am buying to anyone. Are y'all putting detailed descriptions of Shoulder-Fired Belt-Fed Heat-Seeking Auto-Tracking Bunny-Killers in there somewhere?

Doesn't help much if you have to file a claim?

It's their business and can do as they please. Complaining would be like complaining about Para’s decisions here on SigForum. Out of respect- obey the rules.
