I modified the canned message a little...
"As a fellow resident of Washington, I urge you to oppose all the unnecessary and ill-conceived gun control bills being brought before the committee.
The proposed bills only create additional infringements on law-abiding gun owners and have been repeatedly shown to have ZERO impact on crime. Criminals, buy definition, do not follow the laws and more laws won't change that.
ENFORCE the current laws, use existing sentencing enhancements to take those who use a gun in a crime off the street. PROSECUTE to the fullest those illegally in possession of firearms, and pursue prosecution of those who unlawfully attempt to purchase a firearm.
Please stand with law-abiding citizens in support of the Second Amendment and oppose this misguided gun control agenda. Punishing law-abiding gun owners for the acts of criminals is flat out wrong and won’t solve any of the mental health and behavioral problems that we desperately need to do something about.
Again, please oppose all of the gun control bills being brought before your committee. Thank you."
