I am amazed at the speed in which my CPL was sent.
I applied & was fingerprinted on Oct 8th & my license was approved on the 15th, then mailed yesterday for receipt by me today. I applied at the Seattle Police Dept. offices Downtown. Even in liberal King County, the laws here seems to work.

You could delete the duplicate post before anyone posts to it. Congrats on the CPL.

I got mine in Bellevue in about 2 weeks no hassel actually the police lady was sexy and nice to me. They give cpl's to you really easily but they just don't let you carry them anywhere now Smile We'll see if that lasts. I guess they are hoping that they can ticket people in Seattle in hopes they can't afford the legal support to defend there constitutional right. Hopefully some group steps in and fights to overturn this new law (being that it isn't exactly legal)...

Ease of CPL's and the fact no liability insurance is required on a motorcycle make liberal Washington seem like the Wild Wild West.

Being unconstitutional and alreasy having an AG comment to that effect, I'd say so.

It's just us here in the Sound area, the rest of the state is pretty much like America.

The other day I walked into the Redmond PD office to try and get mine.

Apparently they only allow new applications from 9-11 on Tuesdays and Thursdays... I was there at 12:30, on a Friday... damn. Gonna have to take time off to get there that early.

I'm interested in seeing how they plan on enforcing this once people start being cited for the violations. Will they be issuing citations... or arresting people... and how well will the lawsuits pay out?

Getting the CPL is fairly clean and painless in WA state. Mine have never taken longer than two weeks. The last time I renewed I did it at Tukwila city hall and the Sheriff signed it post-dated so there'd be no expiration gap whatsoever. Very cool.

From other articles it looks like

1) Find you are CCW in Seattle Parks.
2) Ask you to leave.
3) Cite for Tresspass.
4) Arrest you (I guess that happens if you don't leave and are tresspassed and still don't leave).

See my comments in that thread regarding "private property" rights of Mayor Nickels. Roll Eyes

Here in Federal Way (it's a city not a prison Eek) the CPL is a must have for a walk in the park. Frankly, for anywhere else here~!

I usually go downtown to the King County SO for renewal but now that I'm living in Federal Way, I'll have to see where I can renew it closer to home with the least bit of hassle and time.
